Polarstern is back!

Yesterday was a very hard day. I had to get up at 03:30 AM, and I wouldn’t have made it, if Tanja didn’t wake me up, but in the end it was worth its price.

We went out to see Polarstern, the AWI scienceship, running back into the harbor and welcome the ship’s complement. It was an amazing thing for me, as one of the souther folks, to see these little hauler pulling this ship through the wategate and to the docks.

And after an hour or two standing around in the cold we even could get on board and had a guilded tour through the whole ship. Thanks to Uwe to let us in and to Rike for the guidance at these point!

Please take a look at the pictures I’ve made. Some of them might be a little bit blurry, but I had to take the pictures without using the flash and it was so f****** cold that my hands where shaking all the time. ;)

Btw. the ship above is the Polarstern too!
